  4. THE ANSWERS!
As I promised, no prizes (that was an easy promise to keep!). But here’s the answers.

    as follows

    1) For the following strange (IMHO) Christmas lyrics, identify the songs from which they come.

    a) So let’s give thanks to the Lord above that Santa Claus comes tonight. (Here Comes Santa Claus)

    b) We ran into a drifted bank, and there we got upsot. (Jingle Bells)

c)There’ll be scary ghost stories and tales of the glories of Christmases long, long ago.(It’s the most wonderful time of the year.)

    2) Ok we all know Ebenezer Scrooge,Bob Cratchit, and Tiny Tim but what are the names of:

    a) Bob Cratchit’s other children and how many are there? (5. But only three of them are named. Besides Tim (who I excluded in the question) there are Martha, Belinda, Peter, and an unnamed younger girl and younger boy.)

    b) Charles Dicken’s children and how many are there? (10 verified: Charles, Mary, Kate, Walter, Francis, Alfred, Sydney, Henry, Dora, Edward. (There is a rumor of one more born shortly after birth, but not verified. I would have accepted either 10 or 11))

    c) The two children that are with the Ghost of Christmas Present who make Scrooge afraid: (Ignorance and Want)

    3. Johnny Marks wrote one very popular children’s Christmas song as well as other popular Christmas Songs. Name the following.

    a) one was based on a poem written by his brother-in-law (Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.)

    b) Name one which was made popular by Burl Ives (there are at least two) (A Holly Jolly Christmas, Silver and Gold or any of the other Rudolph Christmas special songs Burl sang.)

    c) Name one about a Christmas tree. (Rockin around the Christmas Tree)

c1)What’s the name of my Christmas Tree (Frankenpine)

    d) One was based on a poem written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (A version of I heard the bells on Christmas day.)

    5) What does it mean when a bell rings (according to Clarence) (An angel gets his wings)

    6) Who else makes this claim about bells, at least according to a young bailey at the end of the movie? (According to Zuzu, “Teacher says”, so the answer is teacher.)

    7) What book is Clarence reading at the beginning of It’s a wonderful life? (The adventures of Tom Sawyer)

8 ) What two characters from It’s a wonderful life share names with muppets. (Bert and Ernie)

    9) Which muppet plays the Ghost of Marley in the Muppet Christmas Carol (trick question slightly) (The part of Marley’s ghost is played by two muppets and reimagined as Marley and Marley. These two Marleys are played by Statler and Waldorf, otherwise known as the Hecklers from the Muppet show.)

    Thanks for playing!
